I have found myself working in a style that I favored when I was in school, 17 years ago, when I started painting. I was inspired then by the very same family photo album that I have been using recently. Soon after I finished school I worked in mixed media and collage. As time went on I took more painting classes and got away from this style (although I did not let go of my pastels). The other day a friend commented that my art is taking an interesting turn. It is more of a U-turn. I'm happy for it. :)
I have been "away". My mom was visiting for two weeks from Florida. We had a full schedule. We visited my sister in Rockport, ME. (...so beautiful!) There is alot of art up there. We were able to see a Connie Hayes show at the Dowling Walsh gallery. Her paintings were fabulous!! ...also saw the Andrew Wyeth exhibit in the Farnsworth museum. His work speaks to your heart. Good fun, but it's good to be back in the studio.
